Video Submissions

Video Librarian is an online review resource aimed at public, school, university, and special libraries. For over 30 years, we have been publishing reviews to librarians and film lovers around the world!

Public and academic librarians consider our catalog as a valuable resource to help build their collections. We review films across all genres and particularly focus on documentaries, publishing our renowned Best Documentaries Award each year.  Submitting is at no cost to you, we are just always on the hunt for new and interesting stories.

Guidelines:

  1. Programs must be new releases. We are currently not accepting material copyrighted prior to 2019 (with exceptions for historical/archival material). Priority is given to films that are new to the marketplace; i.e., available on DVD, Blu-ray or streaming for the first time within the past 2-3 months.
  2. All film submissions (whether sent digitally or via mail), must complete the Video Librarian: Film Submission Form. Only submissions entered into the form will be eligible for review. Please note that digital screeners are preferred.
  3. Due to the volume of submissions, not all titles submitted are reviewed nor are we able to return review copies.
  4. Following posting, a copy of the review will be automatically sent to you.
