ALA has announced the 2021 Annual Conference! The virtual event is scheduled to take place in Chicago on June 23 -29. In a press release, Julius C. Jefferson, Jr., ALA president stated:
“We hoped that by this summer, it would be safe to meet again in person. However, that is clearly not the case. Despite the promise of vaccines, the pandemic continues to devastate our country. For the safety of everyone involved, we will be moving our Annual Conference to a virtual format,”
Jefferson continued
Given the success of our just-wrapped virtual Midwinter meeting, I am confident that Annual will be just as dynamic, engaging and inspiring. As always, we will have big name speakers, a full online exhibit floor, and more events and opportunities to network, learn and grow that I know participants will love.
The event will include educational and entertaining exhibits activities such as keynoters, authors, and speakers will be announced early this spring along with additional information on programs, sessions, meetings, and exhibit.
Access hundreds of interactive Exhibitor Booths; the Title/Product Showcase with thousands of the newest products, titles, and services; and the Swag-a-Palooza directory with loads of free giveaways, e-galleys, and contest prizes. And you'll find informational and creative multi-media resources in the Bonus Showcases.
Thanks to exhibitor feedback, the exhibits, now known as the Library Marketplace, have steadily improved. Among the features that have provided more interaction and branding opportunities for exhibitors are:
- Text chat
- Title/Product Showcase
- 11 exhibitor supported stages with over 100 sessions
