The program for the International Association of Music Libraries (IAML) was made public on June 29th of this year. The document revealed the names of the music librarians and scholars who will be presenting papers, studies, and posters at the yearly Congress in the beautiful city of Prague. A multinational group of over 250 specialists will present their research on topics as diverse as technology, inclusion, and archive techniques.
A call for proposals went out at the beginning of the year, and the lineup has now been announced. Among the chosen to travel on special funding are Lizzie Buckle of the United Kingdom, Willhelm Delport of South Africa, and Julia Pestke of Germany. They were selected to receive the Liesbeth Hoedemaeker-Cohen Fund for IML travel and the H. Robert Cohen Fund for travel. Hoedemaeker-Cohen served as a music reference librarian at the Amsterdam Public Library and then at The Hague. Beginning in 2005 the diligent music librarian worked as editor of publications at the Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals in Baltimore, where H. Robert Cohen now serves as director. The funds were created in recognition of the RIPM's contribution to international scholarship.
