Author POV
Discover New Books and Authors for Library Collections
A behind-the-scenes peek at the books librarians are about to love.
Every librarian knows the joy of discovering the right book at the right moment. Our Author POV series exists for exactly that reason: to give you a direct line to the writers shaping today’s reading landscape, from picture books and YA to adult nonfiction, memoir, poetry, and everything in between.
In each feature, we invite authors to step out from behind the book jacket and speak directly to the library community. They share the “why” behind their stories, the themes they hope will resonate with readers, and the ideas that shaped their work from first spark to final draft. You will also find insights into who their books are for, including age ranges, classroom fit, and reading interests, because no one knows a book’s ideal reader like the person who wrote it.
We also ask authors to highlight the conversations and programming opportunities their books naturally support. Whether it is a title perfect for Earth Day, Black History Month, Pride, or a local community read, Author POV helps librarians spot curricular and event-friendly potential at a glance.
Each installment includes practical details librarians love, such as available formats, editions, ISBNs, and any classroom sets, educator guides, or companion resources that make the book even easier to bring into a collection. Many authors also share how they partner with libraries, including virtual visits, Q&As, and workshops, because great stories do not end at the last page.
