History
Established in 1987, The TriCoast brand of entertainment companies began with the establishment of TriCoast Production Partners Inc as the production company arm to the public company Mediacom Industries. Founded by Strath Hamilton and Marcy Levitas, TriCoast has been in continuous production for over 25 years. The first feature film for TriCoast, Blueberry Hill, was shot in 15 days on a budget of a few hundred thousand dollars and sold to MGM for over 10 times the original budget. This began our successful run of 22 feature films, 2 successful TV Pilots that turned into series — one of which became the biggest selling TV series of all time: The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. TriCoast has also produced 18 best selling special interest craft DVDs with revenues in the millions, and over 500 coming attractions movie trailers including campaigns for Oscar winners TITANIC and CRASH.
TriCoast also maintains a full-service production studio and post production facility, with state of the art cameras, editing equipment and a 5.1 sound mixing and recording studio. The studio facility located in Culver City, California, has a new special visual effects division, Digital Effects Group (DEG), which has completed digital visual effects work for Lionsgate, Sony, Universal/Vivendi, and Magnolia Pictures.
In 2008 the principals of TriCoast established the distribution company TriCoast Worldwide, to distribute their own films and quality films of other independent Producers. TriCoast Worldwide currently has over 20 films and 2 TV series in Distribution and attends all the major film and TV festivals and markets Cannes, AFM, Berlin, MIP, Mipcom and Toronto Film Festivals. The executives of TriCoast Worldwide have established long term business relationships and vendor numbers with major domestic and international broadcasters and licensees. Over the past 26 years the principals of TriCoast Worldwide have successfully produced and sold dozens of films in many genres with major movie stars.
We are a family-run company committed to creating quality films and entertainment.
