Adventures with Kanga Roddy, which is aimed at elementary school aged children, features a seven-foot-tall kangaroo/martial artist who teaches such values as humility, discipline and respect to help children resolve various dilemmas. The action takes place around a community center and a bookstore which is run by "Uncle Pat" (Pat Morita of Karate Kid fame), who magically transports the kids to the mystical land of Hiyah where Kanga Roddy and other creatures live. Through song and dance, Kanga (voiced by Jefferson Starship lead singer Mickey Thomas) teaches children various lessons: to be sensitive to others' feelings in Please Don't Tease, how to handle parents' divorce in Daddy Doesn't Live Here Anymore and the value of respecting other people's property in Honesty is the Best Policy. The video episodes are as "kid friendly" as promised by the producers and feature talented actor/singers as well as fun special effects. Recommended. Aud: E, P. (S. Fisher)
