Based on Marjorie Flack's classic 1930 picture book, this charming live-action adaptation, narrated by Debby Boone, chronicles the (mis)adventures of one darling Scottish terrier named Angus. A very curious canine, Angus pokes his nose (and paws) into everything around the house, and would no doubt do the same on his daily walks except for one minor hindrance: the leash. Of particular interest to Angus is a tall green hedge behind which something is making very interesting guttural noises. One day, when Angus's owners neglect to shut the front door all the way, Angus escapes, making straightaway for--what turns out to be--a pair of ducks, who are not only less than delighted with the nosey pooch's company, but also a bit on the territorial side. Children (including adult children) will enjoy the live-action antics of curious Angus and his new (un)friends, the ducks. Recommended. Aud: K, E, P. (R. Pitman)
