Betsy's Kindergarten Adventures, Volume 5

This fifth volume of episodes from the 2011 PBS-aired animated series continues the kindergarten experiences of 5-year-old Betsy. “To Tree or Not to Tree” finds the students of Mrs. O'Conner's class working on a play to be presented for visiting parents, but Betsy is disappointed about having a small role that she initially thinks is unimportant. In “Something Fishy,” Betsy helps classmate Kenji overcome his fears during a surprise field trip to the aquarium. “Police Department” revs up Betsy's detective skills while also offering lessons about keeping safe by following rules, and “Visit from the Doctor” serves up tips on good health from a visiting pediatrician. Also including “Homework Rules,” “Bread and Butterflies,” “All Washed Up,” and “Space Rangers,” this latest compilation is chockfull of fun info, helpful reminders (such as not talking when your mouth is full), and relevant vocabulary.
