Based on the 2008 picture book by author and illustrator William Bee, this iconographic-animated tale—featuring spirited narration by Mike Pongracz—centers on gray-haired Mrs. Collywobbles, a sweet senior living at the edge of a “big, dark, scary wood.” In succession, creepy creatures—including a thieving greedy goblin, a stinky troll, and a giant hungry ogre—stumble upon the nervous woman's cottage, each announcing their intent to take it over. None of the beasts, however, take heed of the titular sign in Mrs. C's yard, warning of her pet amphibian (who is definitely not as harmless as he looks) guarding the house. Culminating in a funny twist, Beware of the Frog also features a conversation with Bee. Highly recommended. Aud: K, P. (J. Williams-Wood)
