Poor production values mar this nifty idea for a children's video. Yoga teacher Thia Luby has taken classic animal yoga poses and added a few of her own to create this yoga exercise program for kids. The basic format is to introduce an animal though zoo footage, mention a few arbitrary particulars about the animal, and then show kids performing the exercise/pose inspired by the animal. The animals profiled here include: the penguin, elephant, peacock, gorilla, horse, cat, bear, hare, rhino, turtle, flamingo, lion, snake, monkey, camel, frog, swan, and others (22 animal poses in all). Unfortunately, the video quality is only passable and the tape incorporates more medium and long shots than close-ups (intensifying the washed-out look). Too, the audio track has occasional fades and dropouts. In short, with higher production values and a little tighter editing, this might have been a real quality program. As it is, it looks more like an amateur video. Not recommended. (Available from: Myriad Images, P.O. Box 6008, Santa Fe, NM 87502; (505) 438-0793.)
