Dougie in Disguise: Volume 1

This fun and visually delightful program for preschool children compiles the animated adventures of little Dougie and his talking dog, Tim. In the show's simple premise, Dougie's sticker album acts as a portal to a variety of adventures while also providing the means to solve problems as they arise. The 13 short episodes in this initial volume find Dougie traveling on a cloud and making friends in the Wild West and at the North Pole; becoming Merlin the wizard in an effort to help break another magician's spell; dressing as a Masai warrior and assisting a lonely lion in Africa; stranded on a desert island as Robinson Crusoe; and becoming a bespectacled teacher in order to help a hungry polar bear learn how to survive. In each story, Dougie draws viewers into the action by asking them for help in making decisions. All of the segments feature catchy jingles for sing-a-longs, colorful and pleasing artwork, and solid performances by the vocal actors. A winner all around, this is recommended.
