Based on David Shannon's 2002 picture book, this barnyard biking saga is a fully animated adaptation, narrated by Walter Mayes, with lively music from Jack Sundrud and Rusty Young. When Duck spies a shiny red bicycle, he thinks it would be fun to try, so off he goes, waving “Hello!” to Cow, Dog, Horse, the Pigs, and an assortment of other farm friends as he pedals along, even trying out a few tricks. The animals each respond in typical fashion (Mooo! Bark! Meeooww!) while also letting the audience know what they are really thinking (calling Duck a show-off, for instance, or wishing wistfully they could ride, too). Ultimately, a gaggle of kids arrive at the house and leave their bikes outside, after which all of the critters take a spin—Mouse on the handlebars of Duck's bike, the Pigs on a bicycle built-for-two, and so on. Featuring sunny and bright colors, along with optional read-along subtitles, this funny and entertaining tale is highly recommended. Aud: K, E, P. (G. A. DeCandido)
