The heroics of the titular firefighter and townspeople of Pontypandy are showcased in this five-episode set from the computer-generated spin-off from the original Welsh stop-motion animated series. “Going Out with a Bang” focuses on a fireworks party, with Sam helping by providing a safety leaflet of top 10 tips (including keeping pets indoors), which come into play when Mandy's dad's workshop is set ablaze after she knocks a rocket askew…and the family cat comes up missing. “Sticky Situation” finds shrilly-voiced know-it-all Norman causing all kinds of trouble when he walks into the street while paying attention to his music, ignores model airplane assembly instructions in favor of a powerful warning-labeled glue, and is trapped after setting his bed on fire with a magnifying glass. In “Alarm on the Beach,” twins Sarah and James come across a washed up crate; ignoring their father's cautions, one of them ends up stuck underneath…right when it starts ticking! Also featuring “Best Foot Forward” and “Hot Air,” this popular fire-safety series starring a cool-headed hero is recommended. Aud: P. (J. Williams-Wood)
