First Reconciliation: A Family Journey is a straightforward program that helps prepare youngsters for their First Reconciliation service by presenting an age-appropriate overview of the sacrament's theology (including concepts such as sin, penance, forgiveness, free will, and conscience), as well as a step-by-step guide to the process of confession. Because God's love and friendship are continually underscored throughout, the emphasis here remains on maintaining a strong relationship with God rather than the guilt or shame generally associated with confession.
