Oh no! Your mom invited the bossy girl next door to come over to play! What can you do? Will you boss her back? Give in to her every demand? Or try to reach a “thumbs-up solution,” a choice that both of you can agree upon? After watching this video, one in the seven-part series Getting Along (series price: $399.95), kids will have a better idea of how to deal with bossy peers. The series format is the same: dramatic vignettes illustrate the conflict, after which a discussion group comprised of kids and an adult explore related feelings and solutions, and then a relevant book--in this case, Phyllis Reynolds Naylor's King of the Playground--is presented, Reading Rainbow style. While not necessarily flashy, this is practical, to the point, and has a good sense of humor. The other titles in the series are: How Does It Feel?, It's Mine!, Left Out!, No Fair!, Grrrr!, and Don't Make Me Stop This Car!. Recommended. Aud: K, E, P. (E. Gieschen)
