This interactive sing-along DVD, aimed at babies and children up to four years of age, offers a variety of familiar (and not quite so familiar) nursery songs, with options to listen to the songs in English or Spanish and with or without captions (also in English or Spanish). Although language/captioning options are now fairly common on DVDs, they represent a major step forward in language-learning and ESL programs. The production here is quite simple: each song (including many lesser-known verses—who knew that Old MacDonald had a mouse?!?) is sung by a female soprano (the words appear at the bottom of the screen), while familiar infant and early childhood toys are shown in a style reminiscent of the Baby Einstein videos. My son was thrilled to see his very own farm set appearing onscreen during the “Old MacDonald” song, and was suitably stimulated by all manner of dancing puppets, train sets, and twirling stars. In addition to the sing-along component, there are also two useful interactive “flash card” sequences to introduce children to the alphabet. Other titles in the International BABY 101 series include: International BABY 101: English & Japanese Plus and International BABY Let's Sing Together! English & Korean. Recommended. Aud: P. (A.
