Country and western singer Jessi Colter sings a variety of songs from around the world before a young studio audience in this engaging multicultural sing along. More than 25 international children's favorites are performed, including "Kookaburra" (Australia), "Funiculi, Funicula" (Italy), "Babushka Baio" (Russia), "La Cucaracha" (Mexico), "Sakura" (Japan), and "This Land Is Your Land" (U.S.), among others. Joining Colter in the singing are her daughter and, for one song, her husband Waylon Jennings. Highlights include a group of Scottish Highland dancers performing the "Highland Fling;" children from Ethiopia, Russia, China, and India singing "Head and Shoulders" in their native tongue; and Jennings reciting a pair of original poems, one a rather poignant tribute to that universal children's toy "Dirt." An enjoyable program that introduces youngsters to perennial kid's hits from abroad. Recommended. (Available from: Hallway Productions, 214 Second Ave. North, Nashville, TN 37201; (615) 254-7087.)
