According to the publicity material for the Mommy & Me videos (of which Lullaby & Goodnight is one of three new entries), they were created to “help moms make the most of the time they spend with their children through interactive play,” making “together time a special time, through laughing, loving, learning--together!" Of course, exactly how watching a video of other mothers and children interacting counts towards the real thing is a bit of a mystery. Using a pajama party as the setting, this video features rather annoying animated characters (voiced by Tim Conway and Caroline Rhea), songs (some with re-written lyrics) and a story (“Wynken, Blynken, and Nod”) to fill the time before bed. For parents who believe bedtime should be a quiet time, the dance-and-play numbers will not be altogether welcome, and some of the “lullaby” choices are rather odd, too (“You Are So Beautiful"'s passionate crescendo--“you're everything I've hoped for, you're everything I neeeeeeeeeeed--is pretty loud and jarring). An optional choice for very inclusive parenting collections. The two other titles in the series are: Splish Splash and Fun & Friends. Aud: P. (R. Reagan)
