Sometimes I feel like I'm living in a vacuum. Am I the only person in the world who hadn't seen an episode of Pappyland? For those of you living in the same vacuum, here's the story so far...this energetic old coot (40-ish!) named Pappy and his puppet friends use paper, pencils, and crayons to help fuel the imagination of young viewers. Each tape has two episodes in which a theme is presented (outer space for instance), and Pappy patiently teaches his audience how to draw (a Martian). With an overhead camera watching his every move, Michael Cariglio (Pappy) slowly draws and encourages the audience to use their imaginations to create their own pictures. Though this show has its share of fast-paced singing, dancing and other silliness, children will have a real sense of accomplishment when they show off their new art work to friends and family. I know my loved ones were impressed and my refrigerator has never looked better. Highly recommended. A second volume is also available. Aud: K, I, J, P. (N. Plympton)
