In this computer-animated sequel to the classic Rankin/Bass stop-motion animated 1964 television special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the "most famous reindeer of all" has grown so tired of performing party tricks (lighting up the disco ball is a big fave) that he's seriously considering getting a nose job. But when a mysterious creature known as the Toy Taker makes a daring raid on the North Pole and scoops up the Christmas booty, Rudolph is forced to shelf his rhinoplasty plans and team up with Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius, the abominable snow monster Bumble, and others, to save the world's girls and boys from a very Grinch-y (the plot definitely draws from How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Velveteen Rabbit) Christmas in this tune-filled holiday heartwarmer. The voice talent includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Rick Moranis, and Richard Dreyfuss (who does a decent job of filling Burl Ives' vest as the snowman narrator), and while, overall, this is not in the same league as the original, it's still fun and sure to be very popular.
