In this holiday-themed Rugrats event, not even an upcoming visit from the Easter Bunny can perk up poor Tommy Pickles, who is depressed over the fact that his best canine buddy Spike has apparently forgotten him, focusing all of his attention instead on the neighbor's dog Fifi. Initially confident that he can restore Spike's memory loss concerning their heretofore adventurous friendship, Tommy eventually adopts a bleaker outlook as Spike devotes more and more time to Fifi. Enter know-it-all cousin Angelica, whose theory of "the birds and the fleas" maintains that Spike will recollect his friendship with Tommy as soon as he and Fifi are married. With the help of other familiar characters in the diaper brigade, such as Chuckie (whose parents, the Finster's, own Fifi), Phil, and Lil, Tommy forms a makeshift wedding…with mirthful results. In the end, the reasons behind Spike's neglect of Tommy become poignantly clear, and the Rugrats brood can get on with their holiday celebration. Other episodes on the tape include Share and Share a Spike (which involves sibling rivalry issues between Tommy and his brother Dil--Dil Pickles, mind you) and Spike the Wonder Dog. Rugrats fans will enjoy the gang's customary high jinks. Recommended. Aud: P. (J. Williams)
