While stressing the importance of reading, storyteller Sally Jaeger reminds viewers that "the oral tradition builds listening skills, imagination, and a love of language." Aimed at parents and adult caregivers as well as little ones, this engaging follow-up to From Wibbleton to Wobbleton (VL-7/99) features several songs and finger-plays for toddlers to pre-schoolers. Primarily taped inside a library, where Jaeger leads a storytime group, the program also includes cutaways to families telling stories/singing songs outdoors. Most works are original but there are also classics such as "The Gingerbread Man" sprinkled throughout. A twenty-year veteran of the profession, Jaeger is also an excellent toddler-wrangler, so the tape would be good training for librarians planning on a career in children's services. A natural for public libraries, day care centers, and universities with library programs. Highly recommended. Aud: K, C, P. (R. Reagan)
