Supertruck

Narrated by George Newbern, this animated adaptation of author and illustrator Stephen Savage's 2015 picture book—a Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor Book—features smiling, brave city trucks that show off their duties with pride. The bucket truck fixes power lines, the fire truck puts out a blaze, the tow truck rescues a bus, and the glasses-wearing garbage truck “just collects the trash.” But with a sudden big pileup of blizzard weather blanketing the city, the Clark Kent-ish garbage truck turns superhero, saving the day by digging and clearing the roads with the help of a trusty shovel attachment. Offering a cute look at machines at work and “nerds” being cool, this winning short also features a read-along option and an interview with Savage.
