Look out cubs! Bear Country's most lovable ursidae are back in a new series of adventures which not only teach young children valuable lessons, but go down like honey on toast. In Forget Their Manners, Brother and Sister Bear attend a birthday party overrun by obnoxious cubs. The ill-mannered behavior rubs off on the siblings, and Mama Bear institutes a multi-point Bear Family Politeness Plan to get her clan back in line. Get Stage Fright explores a common phenomenon, the fear of public speaking (human fear numero uno, according to The Book of Lists). When Sister Bear is given a starring role in the school's production of Grizzlystiltskin, she develops a serious case of cold feet (Brother Bear, who only has one line, is walking around in Hamlet heaven). Mama Bear helps her frightened cub, by teaching her that stage fright is natural - and the best defense is solid preparation. In No Girls Allowed, Brother Bear gets a major surprise, when Sister Bear announces that she can beat him in running, marbleshooting, and other "boy" sports and then proceeds to leave Brother and his male cub friends in the proverbial dust. Not content to rest on her laurels, Sister Bear pricks the boy cubs' wounded pride every time she gets a chance. The boys respond by building an exclusively male clubhouse, a move which, needless to say, burns Sister's fur. Mama Bear steps in and gives all the cubs a valuable lesson concerning braggarts and fairness. Each "First Time Video" contains an additional earlier episode. These new Jan and Stan Berenstain creations are highly recommended. (Available from most distributors.)
