Created by Craig McCracken, this popular Cartoon Network series follows a trio of super-powered schoolgirls who protect the city of Townsville whilst attending school and living with their surrogate father/creator Professor Utonium. Enlivened with rhyming narration, this holiday program finds Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup looking forward to a visit from “one certain fat guy” for presents and Christmas cheer. Bothered only by the humbug-ish sentiments of crotchety classmate Princess Morbucks (a spoiled brat who calls the trio “Powerpukes”), the PPGs get busy making flashy and festive preparations, maintaining high spirits until the big morning, when the girls find stockings packed with coal, sans gifts! After discovering that their neighbors are also present-less, the PPGs kick into high gear to solve the mystery (which involves underhanded work on the part of Princess) in a mission that takes the girls to the North Pole to straighten things out and save Christmas for youngsters worldwide. Entertaining, clever, and sure to be popular, this is recommended. Aud: P. (J. Williams)
