With Christian cartoons (such as Veggie Tales) finding new popularity in public libraries and niche markets, it doesn't surprise me that more animated religious tales are coming down the pike. The third title in The Puzzle Club series finds the three young protagonists (an Asian girl and two boys, one black and one white) working on solving the neighborhood pet stealing 'mystery' (a bad man is nabbing pets and selling them), while in a sideplot, club member Kornia is saddled with a new science fair partner named Riley, an obnoxious gum-wrapper litterbug. In addition to solving the mystery, and discovering that Riley has unseen family problems that might account for some of his behavior, the puzzle club members learn that God accepts all of us for who we are, and therefore we must strive to be more tolerant and accepting of others. Simple animation combined with straightforward moral guidance make this another solid entry in this recommended series. Aud: P. (N. Plympton)
