An animated series aimed at younger children and their parents, Threads features stories with a Christian moral underpinning the action. In "Things That Go Puff In The Dark," the opening story of this two-episode tape featuring four computer-animated toys--Bobbin the Bear, Rags the Rabbit, Patches the Pony, and Lacey the Lamb--Bobbin finds himself scared and alone in the forest, startled by lost Muckachuck Scouts and running into a "tree beast." While all is resolved in the end, of course, with everyone learning that trust in God helps ease fears, the real highlight here is the song and dance routine "The Muckachuckee Boogie." In the second story, "The Pobertainian Bean Wars," the gang tries to mend feelings between the feuding Pobertainian Bean brothers, with the upshot that everyone learns an important lesson in forgiveness. Sporting colorful animation and solid pacing, this effort from Veggie Tales alum producer/director Chris Olsen is recommended. Aud: P. (S. Fisher)
