Onward Christian veggies! In this Christmas-themed episode from Veggie Tales, the phenomenally popular series of computer-animated religious morality tales for youngsters, the veggie kids of Dinkletown begin clamoring for more toys, toys, toys when the president of the Nezzer Toy Company floods the television airwaves with pre-Christmas commercials for the Buzz-Saw Louie doll ("the only toy with a working buzz-saw"). When one of the dolls becomes animated and experiences a bit of an existential crisis regarding his purpose in life, he enlists the aid of other veggie kids to thwart Mr. Nezzer and get the true message about Christmas (the story of Christ's birth) out to the children of Dinkletown and surrounding burgs. With an action-packed conclusion that rivals (and spoofs) Bond and Mission Impossible, this successful combination of "Sunday morning values with Saturday morning fun" is highly recommended and an Editor's Choice. [Note: the program also includes the bonus song "Oh, Santa"--a real hoot!] Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
