Weebles: Welcome to Weebleville

Weeble-mania has subsided somewhat since the classic wobbly toys' heyday in the 1960s and '70s, and this relentlessly upbeat produced-for-video, computer-animated program doesn't quite put the bounce back in the franchise. The five musical stories here introduce the residents of Weebleville (as one of the cheerful, round-bottomed characters exclaims, "Rain or shine...it's a great day to be a Weeble"). Weebles, as we all know, wobble; but they don't fall down. Weebles also never give up, "pitch in and help out" when a friend is in need, encourage each other to overcome fears, and cheer one another when the day has been saved. While adults will probably wobble after just one story, preschoolers may enjoy Weebleville's colorful world and delight in the simple, sunny stories that promote friendship, teamwork, sharing, cooperation, and being brave.
