Winx Club: Magical Adventure

The lithe, big-eyed, magical Winx fairies are back in this CGI-animated sequel to The Secret of the Lost Kingdom Movie (VL-11/12). Auburn-locked Bloom likes living with her newly-reunited royal birth parents as the princess of Domino, but is even more excited about going to the ball with her hunky blond boyfriend, Sky. But Sky's dad, King Erendor, tells his son to break the date (serving up a convoluted story about his past guilt), crushing Bloom, after which her own angry father launches a campaign to find a more suitable partner. Stressed, Bloom and gal pals Stella, Flora, Layla, Musa, and Tecna go to visit Bloom's Earth parents, and soon learn that their powers are fading—all because of a parallel plot carried out by the evil Trix trio under the auspices of the even more sinister Ancestral Witches. The Winx and their boy toy Specialists wind up chartering a flying ship to save a magical Tree of Life in this children's title that combines color-saturated CGI scenes and giggly girl stuff.
