Stars: Judge Reinhold (Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2, Ruthless People, Black Magic), Fred Ward (The Player, Thunderheart), Patricia Clarkson (The Untouchables). When New York City optometrist Ernest Albright (Judge Reinhold) loses his job because his individual attention to each pair of eyes doesn't move customers through the turnstile quick enough for the boss, he boards the train for a new store in a new place: the aptly named Tombstone, AZ, circa 1882. Unfortunately, for Ernest, he's swindled--having traded his life savings for an office that frankly bears more resemblance to an outhouse than a place of business. But just as he's ready to pack it in and high tail it back to the Big Apple, help arrives in the form of his former co-worker and admirer Lucy (Patricia Clarkson). Although the optometry business doesn't exactly skyrocket right away, Ernest gets his hands full pretty quickly by making enemies with both the near-sighted Wyatt Earp (Fred Ward) and the local bad boys, the Doom Brothers (10 redheads with a social adjustment problem). Good writing and fine acting, particularly from Reinhold and Clarkson, make Four Eyes and Six-Guns a real comic surprise. Audience: People looking for an enjoyable comedy; fans of City Slickers.
