About the only real reason to watch Douglas Sirk's "rediscovered" 1947 thriller about an American hoofer drafted by Scotland Yard to ensnare a diabolical serial killer terrorizing London is that the hoofer in question is Lucille Ball. The snappy redhead breathes comic life into this otherwise so-so thriller in which George Sanders and (a slightly befuddled looking) Boris Karloff are prime suspects. Sporting no extras, the occasionally scratchy print is nevertheless quite watchable thanks to the loving care characteristically bestowed by indie king Kino-on-Video. Strong optional. (R. Pitman)
