Hitchcock's tale of a sexually repressed thief and liar (Tippi Hedren) who falls into the brawny/brainy hands of a book publisher (Sean Connery) was poorly received upon its initial release in 1964, but has slowly gained critical cachet over the years for its inimitable touches from the master. In addition to the theatrical trailer, production stills and notes, and cast and filmmaker bios, the disc includes a wonderful hour-long documentary, featuring Hitchock's daughter, Hedren, Diane Baker, Louise Latham, screenwriters Jay Allen Presson and Evan Hunter, and various production personnel, but--alas--no Connery.
