Stars: Liam Neeson (Darkman, Shining Through), Laura San Giacomo (sex, lies & videotape, Pretty Woman). Set during the late 50s in England, where strict divorce laws kept private eyes in business, Under Suspicion stars Liam Neeson as Tony Aaron, private shyster. Tony lends his wife to clients, and then photographs them in the sack. The client then has proof of adultery which, in turn, is grounds for divorce. But something goes seriously wrong one night, and Tony finds both his wife and his client dead. Hooking up with the client's mistress, Angeline (Laura San Giacomo), Tony tracks the killer. Neither Neeson nor San Giacomo bring much punch to their characters, which are only loosely developed. Still, Under Suspicion shines when it comes to twists and turns. This baby makes San Francisco's Lombard St. look like a straightaway, as every warm body in the story falls "under suspicion." Audience: The sexy cover art will draw some folks, while the promise of a "clever" thriller will grab others. Unfortunately, there's more mystery than thriller here.
