In the original A Kid's View of Canada, then 9-year-old host Jordan Schroder traveled around the country interviewing nine kids on their perceptions of Canada. Fast-forward five years: Jordan is now 14, is making the trip again, and interviewing the same kids, who are now all teenagers. Old footage from the first video is expertly intercut with the new interviews, as the kids discuss a wide variety of topics, including the U.S./Canada relationship, Quebec's attempts to secede, NAFTA, multiculturalism and Native rights. The winning combination of very articulate interviewees and superb production values make this enjoyable tape a must for library collections in Canada. American social studies classrooms may also find it helpful for comparative use, especially considering that American students' knowledge of their northern neighbor is usually dismally slim. Highly recommended. Aud: I, J, P. (E. Gieschen)
