Meet Henry, Stephanie, Matthew, and Max, talented Canadian youth affected by learning disabilities. In warm, inspiring fashion, they tell us of their academic and social frustrations, struggles, coping mechanisms and victories, all of which are verified by in-school and daily-life segments. This National Film Board of Canada program demonstrates that, given the proper support, "being different can also mean being wonderful"; it also may help foster understanding in these children's peers. Although there is no narration or objective perspective of any kind (the video does include "suggested questions and activities" on the back of the cover insert), this tape is enthusiastically recommended for its kid-to-kid focus, if you can afford its lofty price. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
