Although Rosie O'Donnell is much beloved for her comedy, this feature-length documentary, while warm-hearted and occasionally hilarious, isn't intended to be a non-stop laugh riot. All Aboard! chronicles a week-long Caribbean cruise, planned and organized by Rosie and her partner Kelli, for a diverse group of families, including those headed by gays and lesbians. Specifically designed as a vacation for people who often feel stigmatized when they are part of a large group, this cruise celebrates the nontraditional family. En route, same-sex parents and children speak out about prejudice and the difficulties they often face when engaging in activities the rest of us take very much for granted. O'Donnell's comedic and musical interpolations help soften the documentary's relatively sober tone, although some viewers are still bound to feel they're being preached at, rather than entertained or enlightened. DVD extras include a photo gallery. Optional. Aud: P. (E. Hulse)
