Directed by Bobcat Goldthwait, this standup performance filmed in Houston features comedian Anjelah Johnson, who adds hip-hop flavor to her act by entering and exiting to spinning from a female DJ (she also engages in some adept beat-boxing and break-dancing later in the show). After talking about her Mexican ancestry and her family's money troubles, Johnson moves on to segments on cell phone etiquette, pick-up techniques, her experiences as an underage nightclub denizen, and years spent as a cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders (knowing that she's in Dallas Cowboy country, she plays to the crowd's antipathy towards her old team). Most of Johnson's material works (although her play-by-play of a visit to a Korean nail salon goes on too long), and while she differs from many of her colleagues in that she avoids profanity and sexually explicit content, the subject matter here is still pitched to adults. DVD extras include eight additional bits. A strong optional purchase. Aud: P. (K. Fennessy)
