One of the prime originators of the groundbreaking tropicalismo style, which has done so much to revolutionize Brazilian music, Grammy award winning artist Caetano Veloso is a superb songwriter and a distinctive vocalist. In this filmed 1998 concert in Rio (which became a bestseller on CD in 1999), Veloso and his excellent backing band (including strings and horns) kick out the proverbial jams in a 90 minute set as visually rich and kinetic as it is aurally superb. DVD extras include a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Prenda Minha, an excellent biography of Veloso, and a discography.
