The challenge of sports is often a very personal one: how far can we exceed our own boundaries? Outdoor sports have long been a positive pathway to personal growth, and this is especially true for people who have physical and/or developmental disabilities. This video is basically an inspirational overview featuring people who don't let such things as blindness, loss of a limb, paraplegia, etc., prevent them from participating in activities such as rock climbing, skiing, tennis, or golf. However, libraries may feel that simply combining lots of sports footage interspersed with a few interviews shot on video may not justify the purchase price. Very optional. A better choice here would be the similarly-themed The Chariot Races (VL-5/97). Aud: P. (E. Gieschen)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
