A compilation of TV (mostly from Pop Goes the Country) and concert clips (particularly the 1992 Merle Watson Festival) featuring the late, great virtuoso guitarist Chet Atkins (who passed away in June 2001 at the age of 77), this 25-plus song collection includes spirited renditions of "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right," "Stars and Stripes Forever," "Sunrise" (showcasing Atkins' nimble finger work), and a medley featuring "Mr. Sandman," "Wildwood Flower" and "In the Good Old Summertime." The poignant highlight is Atkins' moving tribute to his father "I Still Can't Say Goodbye." What's maddeningly disappointing here is not the music, but the presentation--a simple transfer from the VHS that not only doesn't boast a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, it doesn't even have a Dolby stereo mix. Optional. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
