One of those thumping, 1980s big-hair bands hiding its blues inclinations behind monotonous riffs and lots of androgynous screeching, Cinderella was a natural fit for the early years of MTV. The band's music video legacy is represented here in 10 mediocre tracks, including "Shake Me," unimaginatively built around the real Cinderella story (you know, with wicked stepsisters and all), and a follow-up, "Nobody's Fool," in which the aforementioned stepsisters try to crash the band's rehearsal. "Somebody Save Me" tries to extract drama out of a studio recording session, "Gypsy Road" (distinguished only by its AC/DC-like guitar hook) intercuts scenes from a concert with a tour of Mexican antiquities, and "Coming Home" is an acoustic ballad about, well, going away and coming home again. The final video, "Heartbreak Station," has actual cinematic qualities, though the tune, a plaint about lost love, is a snoozer. Presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 and stereo, DVD extras here include audio commentary, and a "making-of" featurette. Not recommended. Aud: P. (T. Keogh)
