Magician David Copperfield razzles and dazzles in this career anthology of his greatest hits, including a breathtaking stunt in which a restored passenger car from the legendary Orient Express rises and disappears, and the Statue of Liberty itself vanishes before a live audience. "Lesser" illusions involve turning a gorgeous motorcycle into a pair of gorgeous women, replicating an old Houdini trick in which Copperfield and an assistant swap positions in the blink of an eye, and spinning on a giant needle even as it appears to pierce the ace showman's body. Some of the most entertaining moments find Copperfield engaging with audiences, particularly during a glorified mentalist act in which volunteers apply spray-paint graffiti to a brick wall only to find that the illusionist predicted their every move. The DVD version includes Copperfield's commentary, a parody sketch from an old Late Night with Conan O'Brien show, a text bio, and more. Highly recommended. Aud: P. (T. Keogh)
