Learning disabilities are life-long disorders which affect the manner in which individuals, often of normal or above average intelligence, select, retain and express information. Since learning disabilities do not affect physical appearance, they are sometimes referred to as "hidden handicaps." This program features a panel of teens and younger students who speak candidly about how they discovered their learning disability, the difficulties they endured and the programs that helped them to cope. An understanding teacher can help a student who needs to work in a different manner since, for learning disabled students, incoming or outgoing information may become scrambled as it travels between the senses and the brain. This video fosters an optimistic outlook for these children and explains their special needs. Recommended. Aud: E, I, J, H, P. (C. Dratch-Kovler)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
