According to Gordon Davidson, co-author of the book Spiritual Politics, China is 2/3rd's male, over 40% of the American public believes in reincarnation (it's the only explanation for Mozart), and L.A. was devastated by an earthquake because Reseda pumps out pornography. Flake city? That's not the half of it. Davidson's co-author Corinne McLaughlin, who has the annoying "new age" habit of introducing ancient wisdom with the tagline "we've recently discovered," tells us that every nation has a soul, a divine purpose, and a spiritual destiny. OK, buckle up, here's the scary part: these people sit on presidential committees. The ostensible point here is that opposing sides need to work together to find common ground--not a particularly earth-shattering revelation--but the message is lost in a swirl of vague assertions and misinformation. Content aside (which is where most of it belongs), this talking head video is technically bland, with visuals along the line of an "actual spirit photograph of the Virgin Mary" (which looks remarkably like a third-generation photocopy of a painting). Not recommended. Aud: C, P. (R. Pitman)
