Following plugs for the Emerald City by Jay Buhner (still with the Seattle Mariners) and Warren Moon (no longer with the Seattle Seahawks), this purported tour of "Seattle's Best Entertainment" gets right down to business, and I do mean business. Although the promised segments supposedly include sports, entertainment and the arts, the only three areas which receive more than montage coverage are "restaurants," "boutique hotels" and "golf courses." As a near-Seattle resident, I can tell you that a plug for the restaurant at the top of the Space Needle that doesn't even mention the incredible artistic and entertainment riches of the Seattle Center in which it resides has far more to do with pecuniary than culinary interests. In fact, nearly all of the clips on this tape appear to be paid ads, and some of them are embarrassingly hokey, especially a few with a female voiceover that sounds more like its promising illicit sex rather than a good night's rest in a classy hotel. The accompanying booklet is, like the video, merely front to back ads. Not recommended. A better choice here would be Hatzoff Productions' updated version of Washington State's Emerald City: Seattle (VL-10/90). Aud: P. (R. Pitman)
