Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the most popular parks in the country and Estes Park is a rapidly growing city on the outskirts of the park that offers a beautiful preview of the sights to come. These two areas present visitors with some of the most fascinating collections of wildlife to be found anywhere in the United States, and this video does an admirable job of introducing this wildlife to viewers. One unique feature of this film is that it looks at all of the wildlife, large and small; most films of this type concentrate on the larger animals and overlook the chipmunks, squirrels, and small birds. Maps of where to find the largest concentrations of particular animals help visitors make the most of their trip, and interviews with park officials emphasize the point that no matter how cute and cuddly these animals may seem, they are still wild and unpredictable. With Rocky Mountain National Park being a favorite destination for people throughout the U.S., this colorful and technically outstanding film is highly recommended for public libraries.
