Introduced with shots of concert-goers banging on windows and braving snowy conditions in line, Godsmack Live, featuring the Boston-based alternative metal band in a March 2001 performance, serves up 13 uninspiring songs (some vintage Godsmack with a few additional ditties off their then-new CD) and no extras. The wild, feral crowd cheers on lead vocalist Sully Erna (a Wiccan devotee who also dabbles in guitar, percussion and set design) as he prances and skips around a stage bedecked with molded rocks, green lights, and semi-ominous red-eyed gargoyles. Between exhibitions by shirtless female fans, the occasional shots of mosh pit carnage, and a rousing game of which side of the room can yell expletives the loudest, the band sporadically performs a few gems, including "Awake," "Bad Religion" and "Greed," before closing out in group sing-a-longs with hits "Keep Away," "Voodoo" and "Whatever." Quite optional. Aud: P. (J. Williams)
