This program features highlights from the Classic Aid II Gala Concert live from UNESCO in Paris. Lorin Maazel conducts the National Orchestra of France while Placido Domingo, Shirley Verrett, Wang Yan Yan, Simon Estes, and Barbara Hendricks sing arias from Italian composers Verdi and Puccini. Excellent camerawork and digital Hi-Fi stereo make this presentation easy on the eye and ear. For Wang Yan Yan's solo, Domingo takes over conducting chores, and cuts a fine figure.
