Great Lionel Layouts, Part 1

Sure to fire the engine of train buffs, this opening volume of a 2-volume set is a bit of a letdown after the now defunct Toy Train Revue series (see, for instance, VL-9/92), which offered a close-up look at the work of several model railroaders in each volume. By contrast, this program looks at two: Fritz Von Tagen's collection (with totally unrelated and rather extensive footage of Fritz piloting a plane) and Merle Levitt's complex layout. The video closes with a long TV segment featuring producer Tom McComas and Mr. Interruption, Tom Snyder. Larger collections will want to add, but this is otherwise an optional purchase. Aud: P. (R.
